Bow Community Primary School is where your child is encouraged and helped to aim for excellence in a warm and friendly atmosphere for learning. We are proud of our school and its success is due to children, parents and friends, staff and governors working and learning together. The high quality of staff and their deep understanding of how children learn ensures that each pupils skills whether academic, aesthetic or athletic are given their full opportunity to develop in preparation for the future.
We have around 135 pupils on roll, educating children aged 4 to 11 years (Reception to Year 6). The school is directed and maintained by Devon County Council through the Education Committee.
Our school building is only twelve years old; we therefore enjoy light, spacious classrooms which look over to the hills of Dartmoor. We are fully accessible to wheelchairs and plan to improve disability access every year.
Our facilities include:-
A large purpose built hall and PE changing rooms
Heated outdoor swimming pool
Large sports field, as well as garden area, pond and environmental wildlife area
Well stocked accessible library
Disabled toilet facilities and shower
Computer suites
Art area including kiln room
The school has an on-site kitchen for providing meals every day and also has facilities for the consumption of packed lunches brought in by the children.
