Our teacher's name is Mrs Herbert
There are 30 children in our class aged from 5-7. 23 year 2 children and 7 from year 1.
MATHS- we do counting up and back on a number line, counting in 2, 5, 10 and 20's.We have learnt about money, time, shape, measuring and we are learning number bonds. We use fingers, cubes and multi link to help us.
LITERACY HOUR- We read big books and little books. We read big books as a class and little books on our own. We are learning to read key words and the sounds that letters make in words (phonics). We are learning how to write simple sentences
PE- we use dance tapes, apparatus, balls, skipping ropes and hoops.
In the afternoon when we have finished our work we have free play.
PLAY TIME.
In the morning we play on the tarmac and walking area.
Lunch Time- Class 1, 2 and 3 are first sitting for their dinner.
When we come out to play we have colouring books, dressing up clothes, small cars, hoops and balls to play with and we can play on the new climbing frame.
Afternoon Play- we play in the big playground.
Class 1 and 2 have their own play area outside. It has a climbing frame and grass area. In the summer we play in it when the big children come out to play at lunchtime.
Autumn Term
Each class has a new interactive whiteboard.
We have been learning about Harvest and Autumn. We painted leaf pictures.
We mixed paint to make autumn shades.
We have been learning about animals in their environments and drew pictures.
We made an Animal Alphabet.
We used the computer to show our favourite wild animals.
We have also been making charts of information about ourselves and our classmates.
Wemade these poems of trees and tree sounds, and drew pictures of leaves.
We made pictures of fireworks using pastels, then covering them in black paint and when it was dry we scratched Firework patterns with scissors.
We have been using the role play area as a Post Office.
