We made 3 storysacks for the children at Vranch House, a special school in Exeter for children who cannot control some of their body parts. The children were aged 5 to 7 years old. The children can now enjoy the stories, listen to them on a tape and play the games about the stories.
The children from Vranch House came to visit us at School. We showed them around the school and then went into class. We showed them the storysacks and they played with the puzzles and games.
First we took a pillowcase and cut out fabric letters that spelt Peace At Last. We laminated all the things that we made, like the bear poem that was written on the computer. We made a game of some pictures of the story and wrote the words of the story or sounds e.g. clock and tick tock on separate cards for the children to match up. We also made a puzzle but in big pieces so that children with poor eyesight could play with it. We wrote a copy of the story on the computer as well.

First we cut out fabric letters saying Commotion in the Ocean. Next we glued the letters onto a pillowcase. Meanwhile Guy and I were making a game called Matching Fishes. Afterwards Jacob and I laminated the games. Next we all recorded the story of| Commotion in the Ocean. Lastly we put all of the things in the pillowcase.
After planning what to do, we designed the letters and cut them out of cord fabric. We glued them on to a pillowcase. We made three puzzles, a pocket game and a snap game. We read the story on a tape.
