The History of Bow Primary School.
The first school at Bow was in 1682 given by a Mr John Gould a Yeoman of Broad Nymet .
The school was a house and close. It was to be used as an almshouse and school for the children of deserving poor labouring parents of the Parish.
The name of this school was to be called John Goulds Free School and it had 2.5 Acres of land and the first headmaster was called Mr John Turner.
In September 1875 the school records was transfer to the School Board.

In 1876 a Mrs Mary Snell was appointed as a Sewing and Knitting Mistress with £5 per year for 4hrs work per week.
1880 New plans for the school were made at a cost of £489.10s.
So as you can see our History of the school goes back some time.

The bell from the old school, which is included in our school logo, was taken from the bell casing and attached to the wall near the Reception Area in the new school building.
